During the first week of September 2013, area artists created artwork en plein air during the 2nd Annual Riverfront Paint Out. Selected works from this event were exhibited at Framations Art Gallery.

About the Riverfront Paint Off Competition:

     The Riverfront Paint Off Competition is a week-long painting event in Historic St. Charles, Missouri. Area artists created en plein air before the public in beautiful St. Charles. The term en plein air is French for “in the open air”. Competitions such as this encourage artists to paint outdoors in areas that not only are picturesque but also encourage the public to become engaged in their process of painting. The particiapting artists had six days to complete their works of art, created completely on site, outdoors within the designated boundaries. Artists were also encouraged to participate in scheduled "Quick Paint" competitions where they were tasked to complete painting within just a few hours at designated locations.
