Artist Coleen Breen works primarily in acrylic, with her most recent work adding more mixed media variety and texture to the surface. Currently, Coleen's work focuses primarily on florals, using textures, layers and often metallic media to give a subtle yet striking feel of depth.
"My love of art started about 26 years ago after picking up a box of pastels and from there it began. I moved to acrylics and other mixed mediums. I am a self-taught artist. In the past I belonged to the St. Charles artist Guild where I found that it was exciting to be a part of judged shows. I have done commission wall murals but I prefer canvas over walls. Painting is my stress reliever but creating is my passion. I discovered texture, with acrylic paste, acrylic mediums, beads, and layering canvases adds that dimension to create that one of a kind piece! I find that judged and juried shows brings out the best of my creativity and ideas to become a better artist. " ~ Coleen Breen
