About Artist Steve Femmer:

    Artist Steve Femmer works in drawing, paintings, and photography, creating very detail oriented work. His drawings are particularly precise in his shading as well as linework. When creating, he begins with the overall concept and then develops the composition. Once those steps are solidified, he transfers his images for paper or board and is ready to begin the drawing.

        Steve studied art for two years at Florissant Vallery Community College and for one year at Herron School of Art of Indiana University. He spent his professional career working in the St. Louis area as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator and is now retired. He has been creating art since 1967. 

     Steve's explorations in media range widely to include colored pencil, graphite, ink, pastel, charcoal, acrylic, collage, mixed media and photography.  His subject matter ranges from wildlife, landscape, figures, portraits and even abstracts. His work has been included in exhibits with the Colored Pencil Society of America's International Exhbitions, the annual Missouri 50 Competition exhibits in Sedalia, Missouri, Florissant Vallery Collmunity College, St. Louis Artist Guild, Art St. Louis,  Foundry Art Center, Framations Art Gallery and the Chappel House Gallery.
