Dennis has a degree in Industrial Arts, with an emphasis in woods from the University of Northern Iowa. He has a lifelong passion for working with wood. Since retirement, he has had more time to spend on his hobby, and has made large projects, like canoes. He is a past member of the St. Charles Area Wood Carvers and the St. Peters Wood Carvers. We heat our house with wood, and sometimes his projects come from wood “that was just too interesting to burn.” Then again, failed projects return to the burn pile.
Currently Dennis is a member of Crossroads Arts Council and St. Charles County Arts Council. He has exhibited his work at the Wonders of Wood show, at Framations, at the St. Charles County Fair,in Booths on Main, in the last four Spanning the Generations Art Shows and the last three Pieces of the Heart Quilt Shows sponsored by the Crossroads Arts Council. He participated as an artist in the 2020 and 2021 Arts and Ales. He has some of his woodworking for sale at the Lillian Yahn Gallery and Framations.
